Acronyms #

Acronyms are used for codes standardisation. Just reminder - Code is a shortened Name of the element. It is not mandatory to use codes as shortened names - just switch codes generation off on a folder or a system level.

How it works #

Shortening is performed as follows:

• each word in the name is compared to acronyms and if acronym exists, the word is replaced by the acronym
• all spaces are replaced by _ (underscore character)
• all special characters are left untouched and are considered as a part of words (it can be used to avoid words matching with acronyms)
• finally, the code is switched to uppercase or lowercase based on setting on System level

Acronyms update #

MetaCroc contains a basic set of acronyms for new tenant. Users with a proper permission can update the list or individual acronyms based on project requirements.
